So another question I would get a poping sound from the card sometime. and id have to wiggle and wiggle the volume knob until i found the right spot for non poping sound. Is that one of the issues the sp2 and sp3 firwire drivers caused? or does that seem more mechanical?

'Non-popping sound' I really have no idea what you're talking about there. Can you describe the popping sound in more detail? In any case I think you should start a new thread as I doubt that your problems have to do with the 1394 bus controllers.
